About Us

Born from the friendship of two people, one Ethiopian and one Jamaican, Nanyea & Tropical Fusion by Nanyea brings together the rich heritage of East Africa and the vibrant flavors of the Caribbean under one roof. From savory tibs and handmade sambusas to authentic jerk chicken and sweet golden plantains, every dish celebrates the traditions of home.

At the heart of our restaurant is the Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony and the Mesob, a traditional communal basket table that reflects our belief that great meals are meant to be shared. More than a restaurant, Nanyea and Tropical Fusion is a place where culture, family, and community come together, turning every guest into part of the family.

Came here for reggee night and this place was incredible.... Was not expecting much bc there's been some awful restaurants in this building but it is clearly being managed well.. The place was very clean and well decorated the outdoor patio was great and nice to have the staff was so good I never stood at the bar waiting too long and the food was excellent Also the crowd was bumpin so many people and everyone was so friendly I met a lot of cool people and saw a incredible set from da squad. And everything was very reasonably priced

Made the trip to Dayton specifically to eat at Nanyea and was not disappointed. The food was beyond delicious. They had amazing vegetarian options. The coffee was also really wonderful. Highly recommend going in a small group or pair as this is a lot of food. There were two of us and we still had leftovers. Will 100% be back!
